He remains calm, even when things are hard for him. Jake, on the other hand, feels the need to send his family away so that he doesn? t have to worry about them. The reason he took the case in the beginning was becaus e for selfish reasons because of his feeling of guilt, and not absentminded the same thing to happen to his young daughter rather than taking the case only out of the kindness of his heart, as Atticus did.
